A Legendary Legacy
The World Famous Palomino Club was more than just a country western nightclub—it was the beating heart of country music on the West Coast. Located at 6907 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, California, from 1949 until its closure in 1995, the Palomino hosted an incredible roster of talent including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt, Dwight Yoakam, Emmylou Harris, George Harrison, and Bob Dylan.
Brothers Tommy and Bill Thomas transformed the San Fernando Valley venue into a legendary music destination, earning the Academy of Country Music's "Nightclub of the Year" award for an unprecedented 14 consecutive years. The Palomino was home to the famous Palomino Talent Show and pioneered the "Cow Punk" country rock movement. This website celebrates their vision and preserves the story, photos, and datebooks of Country Music's Most Important West Coast Club.
